The city’s annual Spring Beautification Day is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 19, at the Mansfield Service Center, 620 S. Wisteria St. The city will also host a Tire Amnesty Day during the event.
“This facility (the service center and the ECC) has allowed us to hold more collection events and provide additional space,” said Howard Redfearn, environmental services manager for the city. “This event Saturday is for Beautification Day only. No household hazardous waste will be collected this weekend.”
Proof of residency (driver’s license or utility bill) is required to participate in the collections events or have access to the center. Contractors and businesses will be turned away.
Beautification Day, sponsored by Keep Mansfield Beautiful and the City of Mansfield, will accept bulky items, junk, trash (bagged), scrap metal, appliances and any other items that may be too large for curbside pickup. Tires may also be disposed of at this event at no cost.
Tree limbs and brush may be disposed of at the 24 N. Mitchell Road site from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday as well.
Gently used furniture or clothing may be donated prior to the event at the Wesley Mission Center Thrift Shop at 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive.
