Manufacturer relocates to Mansfield bringing 130 jobs

Venus, Texas-based SteelTex, a division of Utex Industries, announced its relocation to a 135,000 square-foot facility in Mansfield.

The company, which manufactures specialty metal coating for high pressure pumps, currently employs 75 people at its Venus facility. The company expects to expand its operation to 130 employees in Mansfield over the next five years.

“The SteelTex Division of Utex is excited to move into the city of Mansfield,” said Darrell Mitchell, operations manager. “Our expansion efforts are doubling our current local manufacturing capacity and expanding other product lines from the Utex portfolio to the Mansfield location. Remodeling is currently taking place and we hope to be producing products from the facility in early 2018.”

“The addition of SteelTex represents another in a long line of industries that have found a home in Mansfield,” said Scott Welmaker, director of economic development for the city. “They are a leader in their industry and their continued growth will add to the Mansfield economy.”

SteelTex, started in 2009 as a steel fabrication supplier, was acquired by Utex in 2016. Following the acquisition SteelTex’s operations and product lines were expanded, necessitating the need for additional space.

The company is relocating to 102 Sentry Drive in the Mansfield Industrial Park. The facility is owned by ASH JV and was previously occupied by Valmont Industries, which left in 2015.  Peyco Southwest Realty Inc. represented the Landlord and NAI Robert Lynn Represented the Tenant.

Utex Industries is a leader in the fluid sealing industry and has operated since 1940. The company is headquartered in Houston, with manufacturing facilities spread through 10 divisions and totaling more than 700,000 square feet of operating space. They employ more than 700 people worldwide.
