With the Christmas and New Year’s holidays approaching, the City of Mansfield is announcing its schedule for public facilities and services.
City buildings and facilities
Mansfield City Hall and all public buildings will be closed Monday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Dec. 26, in observance of the Christmas holidays. This includes Animal Care and Control, the Chris Burkett Service Center and the Public Safety and Municipal Court Building.
The Mansfield Public Library will be closed starting Saturday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Dec. 26. They will resume normal hours Wednesday, Dec. 27.
The Mansfield Activities Center will be closed Monday, Dec. 25. They will be open Tuesday, Dec. 26 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
All city buildings and facilities will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year’s holiday.
Trash and recycling
There will be no garbage or recycling collection on Monday, Dec. 25, and Monday, Jan. 1. Residents with Monday garbage collection will have their trash picked up on their next regularly scheduled collection day (Dec. 28). There will be one makeup day for Monday recycling customers on Saturday, Dec. 30. Customers are encouraged to have their carts at the curb before 7 a.m. to ensure collection. After this, the next regularly scheduled recycling day for Monday customers will be Jan. 8.
Christmas tree recycling
Anyone wanting to recycle their Christmas tree may bring it to 24 N. Mitchell Road between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, starting Dec. 30, until Jan. 20. There will also be a trailer at the Mansfield Home Depot starting Dec. 27, that will accept trees.
All bags, lights, tinsel, wires, ornaments and stands must be removed from the tree prior to placing the tree in the lot. Flocked and fake trees will not be accepted. Residents will be responsible for unloading the trees themselves.
Please do not leave Christmas trees at any other location and do not leave them at the curb in your neighborhood. Do not drop off any other items such as trash, debris or yard trimmings at the Mitchell Road or Home Depot locations. There will not be dumpsters on site. Please take Christmas trees to the designated areas only.
