Apple pie, fireworks and Mansfield, Texas. Tis the season for celebrating the red, white and blue, and no city does it quite like Mansfield. Rockin’ 4th of July returns to Big League Dreams Ballpark for its 11th year, bigger and better than ever. Keep in mind these important reminders before heading out to the festival with your family.

1. NO PARKING AT BLD - TAKE THE SHUTTLE

No parking is available at Big League Dreams; all guests are directed to park at Mansfield ISD’s Vernon Newsom Stadium, 3700 E Broad St. Free charter buses will begin running from the stadium to the ballpark at 6:30 p.m., and with more than 25 buses running continuously throughout the night, it shouldn’t take long to get everyone to the fun quickly. After the fireworks show, guests will be directed to follow the large electronic signs to exit the facility. Shuttle buses pause immediately before and during the fireworks per Fire Marshall safety guidelines but will begin running again at 10 p.m.  Last year, all 13,000 guests made it out of BLD and back to their cars safely in just under one hour. Just please be patient with your family, our staff and your neighbors and everyone will have a peaceful, prompt exit.

2. BRING THIS

All guests SHOULD bring:

  • Lawn chairs and/or blankets
  • Sunscreen
  • Cash/cards for food & drink vendors
  • Camera/phone to take lots of photos!

3. LEAVE THIS AT HOME

Guests should NOT bring:

  • Coolers or any outside food/drinks (with the exception of baby food/bottles)
  • Pets
  • Personal fireworks
  • Illegal drugs/weapons

Keep in mind, all other facility guidelines are also in effect; all city and state laws will be strictly enforced by on-site police to protect the safety of all guests.

4. GET READY FOR FUN

Rockin’ 4th is more than just fireworks, it’s a whole evening of fun! All of the open ballfields have both seating and entertainment activities, so once you’ve found a place to sit you can walk around and check out all the action. Little ones will enjoy the bounce houses, slides and carnival-style games. Older kids can try out the rock climbing wall, home run derby, tennis games or smash car. New this year are old-fashioned lawn games, from giant checkers to tug of war, that the whole family can enjoy! It’s part of our Parks & Recreation campaign to unplug and enjoy a screen-free summer and is designed to be fun for all ages. Be sure to also stop by our vendor booths for other games and giveaways, grab a bite to eat from one of the many food & drink options and listen to the live music on the main stage from The Night Shift.

5. FIREWORKS

This year’s fireworks show is sure to amaze, with 2,500 pounds of explosives going into the Mansfield sky at approximately 9:30 p.m. and lasting 22 minutes. Announcements will be made 10 minutes before the start of the show so guests can get to their viewing spots. All lights at BLD will go out for optimal viewing so attendees should get to their seats before the show begins. Remember to wait for the lights to come back up then follow signs and officers/volunteers as you pack up after the show so everyone can enjoy a safe and orderly exit.
