Mansfield honored with four statewide communication and marketing awards


The City of Mansfield’s communication and marketing efforts were honored last week with four statewide awards from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers.

TAMIO recognized Mansfield at its TAMI Awards ceremony held at the group’s annual conference. The award program celebrates outstanding communication and marketing efforts by Texas cities in several categories including video, print, special events, digital and electronic communications, media relations, internal communications, marketing and communications planning.

Mansfield received awards in the following categories:

First Place TAMI Award – Best Internal Communications – 24/7/365 Employee Video (Communications & Marketing Department)

First Place TAMI Award – Best Recurring Special Event – Barks & Rec (Parks & Recreation)

Second Place Award of Excellence – Best One-Time Video/Program – “Coach Havens/Mansfield Volunteer Program” (Communications & Marketing)

Third Place Award of Honor – Best Marketing Plan or Campaign – Check in With Mansfield Parks (Parks & Recreation)

The TAMI Award for Barks & Rec is the fourth honor for this new event. Last year Barks & Rec was recognized nationally by the City-Council Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) with a first place Savvy Award as Best Recurring Special Event, as well as a Savvy Award for Best Social Media Campaign. It was also recognized by the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) as the best recreation program of the year. The “Check in With Mansfield Parks” marketing campaign was also recognized by TRAPS with its Communications Award.

Founded in 1974, TAMIO is an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League and represents government communication professionals in cities across Texas.
